{"id":543,"date":"2017-06-20T17:42:01","date_gmt":"2017-06-20T17:42:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rohrzim.org\/?p=543"},"modified":"2018-07-12T14:51:03","modified_gmt":"2018-07-12T14:51:03","slug":"rohr-zimbabwe-donates-pens-to-needy-dungwiza-primary-school-st-marys-chitungwiza","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rohr-zimbabwe.org\/index.php\/2017\/06\/20\/rohr-zimbabwe-donates-pens-to-needy-dungwiza-primary-school-st-marys-chitungwiza\/","title":{"rendered":"ROHR ZIMBABWE DONATES PENS TO NEEDY DUNGWIZA PRIMARY SCHOOL, ST MARYS, CHITUNGWIZA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ROHR ZIMBABWE DONATES PENS TO NEEDY DUNGWIZA PRIMARY SCHOOL, ST MARYS, CHITUNGWIZA<\/p>\n<p>30<sup>th<\/sup> January, 2016<\/p>\n<p>On Friday 29<sup>th<\/sup> January 2016, the Restoration of Human Rights (ROHR) Zimbabwe donated 5000 pens to Dungwiza Primary School in St Marys, a rundown suburb of the dormitory town, Chitungwiza, situated about 30 km south of Zimbabwe\u2019s capital city, Harare.<\/p>\n<p>This was the culmination of a lengthy bureaucratic process which started around mid-2015 and involved liaison with multi layers of authority in the Ministry of Education.<\/p>\n<p>Dungwiza Primary School is the smallest school in St Marys and has an enrolment of about 872 pupils, most of whom are from a very poor background.<\/p>\n<p><em>The donation was under the auspices of ROHR Zimbabwe\u2019s recently launched Education Assistance Programme (EAP) which will see many needy schools around Zimbabwe receiving donations of pens and, possibly, other items of stationery from ROHR Zimbabwe<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The EAP is being coordinated by ROHR Zimbabwe\u2019s programmes team comprising Douglas Shumbayaonda (Shumba) and Justice Manayi with the support of a finance and administration team comprising Getrude Marjory Kamhunga and Olivia Chikunichawa.<\/p>\n<p>The donation event was officiated by Hon. Unganai Dickson Tarusenga MP, in his capacity as Member of Parliament for St Marys Constituency.
