The meeting was co-chaired by Vongayi Mufara (Branch Organizing Secretary) and Alvina Chibhamu (Branch Secretary). It started at 14:30 hrs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Register of attendance<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alvina\nChibhamu, Vongayi Mufara, Lindah Chenyama and Abigail Wadzanayi Chidavayenzi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Apologies <\/strong>were received from Olivia Chamboko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting discussed, among other things;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Minutes of the previous meeting,<\/li><li>Matters arising from the minutes of the previous\nmeeting,<\/li><li>Membership mobilization<\/li><li>Branch Executive Committee\u2019s skills set and\ndeployment<\/li><li>Members\u2019 welfare<\/li><li>Recent developments and current state of affairs on\nthe human rights front in Zimbabwe<\/li><li>Action plan and tentative diary for remainder of\nthe year<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Among other things the meeting agreed a number of\nactions resulting from the discussion of each agenda item.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of the action points agreed were;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Abigail (Treasurer) to inquire about bank account\nopening process with a view to opening an account for the branch,<\/li><li>Abigail to inquire about potential venue(s) for\ndemonstrations with a view to holding local demonstrations \/ vigils in order to\nraise public awareness of the Zimbabwean human rights situation in Scotland.<\/li><li>Lindah Chenyama (Fundraiser) to explore fundraising\nopportunities with a view to raising enough funds to make the branch self\nsustaining.<\/li><li>Vongayi Mufara (Organizing Secretary) to call all\nmembers individually with a view to assessing membership welfare needs,<\/li><li>All to mobilize for the 31<sup>st<\/sup> August 2019\nZimbabwe Culture Day organised by the UK Chapter of ROHR Zimbabwe and being\nheld in Nottingham.<\/li><li>All to mobilize for the 25<sup>th<\/sup> October\n2019 London demo against the SADC Heads of States decision to campagn for the\nremoval of targeted sanctions against individuals in the Zimbabwean political\nelite.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All agenda items and any other\nbusiness having been exhausted, Vongayi Mufara declared the meeting closed at\n16:45 hrs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To view pictures taken at the event, <a href=\"mailto:https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/rohr_zimbabwe__manchester\/albums\/72157710559864271\/with\/48626635916\/\">click here<\/a> or follow the link below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/rohr_zimbabwe__manchester\/albums\/72157710559864271\/with\/48626635916\/\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>By: Information &amp; Publicity Department<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>25th August 2019 On Saturday 24th August 2019 the Scotland Branch of the UK Chapter of Restoration of Human Rights (ROHR) Zimbabwe held a meeting at Motel One, 78 \u2013 82 Oswald Street, GlasgowG1 4PL, Scotland.
