The meeting was chaired\nby Tsungirirai Kahiya (Tsungi).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\"><strong>Register of\nattendance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nicolate\nGwati \u2013 Recorded the proceedings (took minutes of the meeting).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\">Caroline\nMombeyarara, Lilian T Nleya, Kupakwashe Ziki, Weston Mupfururirwa, Tsungirirai Kahiya,\nDaisy Mandianike, Eveline Kuwaza, Sandra S Chidemo, Tafadzwa Chivaura, Vincent &nbsp;Mwase, Olive Ruvimbo Ruzvidzo, Grace Makoni\nand Gladys R Dube<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meeting\nstarted at 14:37<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Agenda<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Chairperson\u2019s\nanalysis on the branch<\/li><li>Secretary\u2019s\nreport on the branch, member participation, positives and negatives<\/li><li>Organising\nSecretary\u2019s report on last year\u2019s events, the pros and cons and the events that\nare in store for us this year as a branch<\/li><li>Treasurer\u2019s\nreport<\/li><li>Fundraiser\u2019s\nreport and plans for the new year<\/li><li>Any\nother business<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Chairperson\u2019s\nanalysis by Tsungirirai Kahiya<strong><\/strong><\/li><li>Tsungi\nstarted by talking about how we could map our calendar for the year and cited\nthat at the last meeting we had looked at the things that we did well as a\nbranch and the things that we didn\u2019t do well.<\/li><li>She stated that\neach month each position holder will present a report on the branch with\nregards to their position<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Secretary\u2019s\nreport by Nicolate Gwati<strong><\/strong><\/li><li>Nicolate spoke\nabout how people kept on calling her asking for the minutes of the meetings\nthat had been held by the branch despite these having been sent to everyone via\nemail. It appears as if people do not read the emails that are sent to them and\ninstead want someone else to always provide them with the information that they\nneed<\/li><li>Tsungi commented\nthat people shouldn\u2019t be calling Nicolate for the minutes and the photos that\nare taken at these meetings as these are readily available on the ROHR Flickr\nand Facebook accounts and on the ROHR website<\/li><li>People were encouraged to find\ninformation on what is happening in Zimbabwe from the Guardian, Telegraph and\nthe Zimbabwe forum websites <\/li><li>People were encouraged to know their\norganisation and the things that are happening in Zimbabwe<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Organising\nSecretary\u2019s report by Lilian Nleya<\/li><li>Activism\n\u2013 we need to be more active. What can we do as a branch in terms of our\nactivism?<\/li><li>Charity work \u2013 re-visit our charity work (soup\nkitchen)<\/li><li>Demonstrations\nand petitions<\/li><li>No rape campaign<\/li><li>Forced disappearances <\/li><li>Including\nsister organisations in our demonstrations<\/li><li>Family fun day<\/li><li>Working with migrant organisations<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Treasurer\u2019s\nreport by Grace Makoni<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Grace gave a report on how much money we had\nreceived during the year, how it was used and how much money we had left in our\naccount<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Fundraiser\u2019s\nreport by Marian Mangani<\/li><li>Sandra came up with the idea of having a\npot of money that will help people with transportation to demonstrations and\nmeetings in other cities (we will talk about this idea in greater details at\nthe next meetings)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Any other business <\/li><li>Caroline suggested Nottingham Forum and\nshe will go and find out how we can partner with them<\/li><li>Tafadzwa suggested Zinthiya Trust that\nhelps women <\/li><li>Vincent will go and speak to Zinthiya\nabout their work<\/li><li>Daisy Mandianike was given a task about\nwomen who were raped<\/li><li>Tafadzwa to look at the abductions <\/li><li>Eveline will be looking at children <\/li><li>Lilian will help Daisy Mandianike<\/li><li>Sandra will look at tortures (human\nrights violations)<\/li><li>Weston donated \u00a310 towards our\nfundraising initiative<\/li><li>Itai Dzamara disappeared on the 9<sup>th<\/sup>\nof March so if the demonstration is held on the 8<sup>th<\/sup> of March 2019<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\">All agenda items and any other business having\u00a0been exhausted, Tsungirirai Kahiya\u00a0declared the meeting closed at 17:00 hrs To view pictures taken at the event, <a href=\"mailto:https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/rohr_zimbabwe__manchester\/albums\/72157707080862344\">click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\"><strong>By: Information &amp; Publicity Department<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>23rd February 2019, On Saturday the 23rd of February 2019 the Midlands Branch of the UK Chapter of Restoration of Human Rights (ROHR) Zimbabwe held a meeting at Secular Hall, 75 Humberstone Gate, Leicester, LE1 1WB.
