The meeting was chaired by Tsungirirai\nKahiya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\"><strong>Register of attendance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\">Nicolate Gwati, Tsungirirai Kahiya, Lilian T\nNleya, Marian Mangani, Normagugu Sibanda, Weston Mupfururirwa<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\"><strong>Agenda<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Opening prayer<\/li><li>Housekeeping<\/li><li>Communication and timekeeping<\/li><li>Subscriptions and membership<\/li><li>ROHR blog<\/li><li>End of year party<\/li><li>Any other business<\/li><li>Closing prayer<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\">Meeting start: 15:09<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-2px\"><strong>Housekeeping<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Tsungi\nadvised people that Nicolate and herself would be stepping down from their\npositions at the end of the year<\/li><li>As\na branch we need to discuss the way forward as we now have 3 vacancies in the\nCommittee namely: Chairperson, Secretary and an Information and a Publicity\nOfficer. These positions will need to be filled by December so that things will\nresume back to normal in December <\/li><li>The Secretary will put a message on\nthe ROHR Midlands WhatsApp group so that people will start nominating persons\nfor these positions <\/li><li>We\nwill also reshuffle the Committee positions so that some can nominate\nthemselves for new positions<\/li><li>We\nwill do away with vice positions until all the key positions in the committee\nhave been covered <\/li><li>Weston indicated that he was still\nhaving problems with his eyes as they were still being operated on and as such\ncould not make all the meetings<\/li><li>Tsungi\nresponded by saying that it is not necessary to be at every meeting but to be\nable to execute the role behind the scenes and update people on WhatsApp. <\/li><li>People\nneed to change their attitude as the committee so that everyone will take\nresponsibility for all the things that happen in the branch <\/li><li>Nikki to do housekeeping and remove\nall the people who should not be part of the ROHR Midlands WhatsApp group<\/li><li>This might push people to revive their\nown branches <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\"><strong>Communication\nas Midlands branch<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>We\nare to remind members to keep the messages on the ROHR Midlands WhatsApp group\nas strictly business. There should be no jokes and information about other\nbranches posted on the ROHR Midlands Whatsapp group. All this information\nshould be posted on the ROHR Community WhatsApp group.<\/li><li>Let\nus initiate human rights conversations on the group.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\"><strong>Subscriptions\nand membership<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\">Make sure that all subscriptions are up to\ndate&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\"><strong>ROHR\nZimbabwe blog<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\">People were encouraged to write things that could\nbe put on the ROHR Zimbabwe blog highlighting human rights issues in Zimbabwe<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\">&nbsp;<strong>End of year party<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>We\nwill have our end of year party in November on the date of the next meeting\nwhich is scheduled for the 16<sup>th<\/sup> of November<\/li><li>Lilian\nto investigate booking the venue for the party <\/li><li>We will have foods like chicken wings,\nfrozen pizzas and chips<\/li><li>People\nshould feel free to donate any foodstuffs and\/or money&nbsp; <\/li><li>Those\nwho drink should bring their own alcohol<\/li><li>Tsungi will bring the music for the\nboombox<\/li><li>Lilian\nto bring the left-over cokes and water that she got after our fundraiser<\/li><li>We\nwill be looking for other soft drink donations <\/li><li>Weston pledged \u00a310 towards the\nChristmas menu<\/li><li>Grace needs to be reminded about the\n\u00a320 that was deposited into the ROHR main account<\/li><li>Lilian should investigate booking the\nvenue from 2pm to 9pm<\/li><li>Grace will pay for the venue <\/li><li>For\nour fundraiser Marian should enquire about Zimbabwe scarfs from Hillary\nMusarurwa<\/li><li>We\nshould also investigate getting Zimbabwe woolly hats and gloves <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\"><strong>Any\nother business<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Tsungi\nhas stepped down from her position as Chair of the UK Chapter <\/li><li>The\nScotland Branch is doing a demonstration in Glasgow at the end of October 2019<\/li><li>Every branch is getting new banners\nfrom the money that was donated.
