The&nbsp;meeting was chaired&nbsp;by Olivia Chamboko (Branch\nChairperson)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Register of Attendance <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alvina\nChibhamu, Abigail Wadzanayi Chidavayenzi, Linda Chenyama, Vongayi Mufara and\nOlivia Chamboko<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Agenda<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1.\nReading and adoption of previous minutes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.\nMatters arising from previous minutes (demonstration)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3.\nTasks Update<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4.\nFundraising report from last demonstration<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5.\nIdentifying a theme and plans for the new year<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. Any other business<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meeting\nstart 12:00<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Reading and adoption of previous minutes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Olivia\nstarted by welcoming everyone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Acting\nSecretary Vongayi Mufara gave a report on points that were raised at the last\nmeeting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>-The\nminutes of our last meeting on the 26th October 2019 were read and adopted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Olivia\nChamboko discussed the regular absence of some committee members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Some\nhave been found never to be in attendance of any meeting since inception. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Olivia\nwill first contact them to find out if they still want to commit as members\nbefore proceeding to liaise with Mr Karimanzira and Mr Mapfumo regarding a way\nforward with this issue in line with our constitution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; On the same note, Vongayi Mufara suggested that if anyone can volunteer to phone them and encourage them to come to the meetings<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Matters\narising from previous minutes (demonstration)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Olivia\nChamboko explained to the group the process of planning a campaign and\ndemonstration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; She\nexplained all the stages so that any member could do it in the future. The\nprocess included, among other things, asking for permission from Glasgow\nCouncil and notifying the local Police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Olivia\nChamboko talked about the people we met during our last demonstration and\nsigned our registerto be contacted via email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Alvina Chibhamu was assigned to contact those members of the public to invite them to our meetings or ask if they\u2019re happy to be kept abreast of the situation in Zimbabwe via e-mail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fundraising report from last demonstration<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; The Treasurer (Abigail Wadzanayi\nChidavayenzi) gave a report on money collected against expenses for our last\ndemonstration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Olivia Chamboko (Chairperson) updated that funds\nraised from last month\u2019s campaign (# NoToPoliceBrutality) will be sent to a\nvictim of police brutality in Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Vongayi Mufara reported that the branch managed to identify a fitting beneficiary of the funds. This beneficiary was a confirmed victim of Police brutality in Zimbabwe. For their safety, we shall call them \u201cEC\u201d (Not their real initials).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Identifying a theme and plans in the New year<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Vongayi\nMufara (Organising Secretary) suggested monthly contributions of \u00a35\/person which\nwill go towards helping us buy drinks and eats during meetings, for example.\nAll present agreed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Alvina\nChibhamu (Branch Secretary) suggested that we do a Bring and Share Lunch to our\nnext meeting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; We\nwould charge a small fee per plate as a way of fundraising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Alvina\nalso suggested we each invite and bring someone, invite friends and family to\nthis January fundraiser so that they can see and hear what we are about as ROHR\nZimbabwe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Vongayi\nMufara offered the use of her house for this Bring and Share in January. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Linda Chenyama (Fundraiser) added that we should try and encourage old members to come for the meetings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any\nother business<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Olivia\nChamboko put it to all members to come up with ideas of campaigns for 2020 and\naim to hold more demonstrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Alvina\nChibhamu suggested that we invite other branches for our next demonstration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Abigail Wadzanayi Chidavayenzi suggested that we need to go introduce our group to the Zimbabwe Consulate at the Glasgow office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Action<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alvina\nChibhamu to call the Zimbabwean Embassy in London to get the information about\nConsulate in Glasgow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Olivia\nannounced that there was no meeting in December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All\nagenda items and any other business having been exhausted<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All agenda items and any other business having been exhausted, Olivia Chamboko declared the meeting closed at 16:00 hrs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To view pictures taken\nat the event,<a href=\"mailto:https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/rohr_zimbabwe__manchester\/albums\/72157711907132062\">click here<\/a> or follow\nthe link below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>By: Information &amp; Publicity Department<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cover Picture:-&nbsp; <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/rohr_zimbabwe__manchester\/49112300842\/in\/album-72157711907132062\/\">https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/rohr_zimbabwe__manchester\/49112300842\/in\/album-72157711907132062\/<\/a><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>23rd November 2019&nbsp; On Saturday&nbsp;the 23rd November 2019, the Scotland&nbsp;Branch of the UK&nbsp;Chapter&nbsp;of Restoration of Human Rights (ROHR) Zimbabwe held a meeting at Motel One, 78-82 Oswald Street, Glasgow, G14PL, Scotland.
