The meeting was chaired by Tsungirirai\nKahiya (Tsungi).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\"><strong>Register\nof Attendance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\">Nicolate Gwati, Lilian T Nleya, Tsungirirai Kahiya,\nWeston Mupfururirwa, Phylis Melody Magejo, Kumbirai Hwami, Daisy Mandianike,\nAndrew Nyamayaro, Patson Tamburai and Pythias Makonese<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\"><strong>Agenda<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Introductions<\/li><li>Presentation\nby Andrew Nyamayaro of Tann Law Solicitors<\/li><li>Question\nand answer segment<\/li><li>Secretary\u2019s\nreport by Nicolate Gwati<\/li><li>Treasurer\u2019s\nreport by Grace Makoni<\/li><li>Fundraiser\u2019s\nreport by Marian Mangani<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\"><strong>The meeting started at 14:55hrs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\"><strong>Introductions<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Tsungi opened the meeting and\nintroductions were made all round<\/li><li>Tsungi made mention that the handover\nto the new committee would be made after the meeting as their positions take\neffect from today<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\"><br><strong>New Committee positions are as follows:<\/strong>&#8211; <br>Acting Chairperson:- Nicolate Gwati<br>Secretary:- Nomagugu Sibanda <br>Information &amp; Publicity Secretary:- Tsungirirai Kahiya <br>Organizing Secretary:- Lilian Nleya <br>Treasurer:- Weston Mupfururirwa <br>Fundraiser:- Marian Mangani  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\"><strong>Presentation\nby Andrew Nyamayaro of Tann Law Solicitors<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\">Andrew told us the law that Tann Law specializes\nin:- Litigation, Employment, Immigration, Family &amp; Matrimonial, Business\n&amp; Corporate, Charity, Welfare Benefits, Wills and Trust &amp; Probate. They\nare also Commissioners of Oath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\">He spoke mainly about the importance of everyone\nhaving a will and advised us how important it is to appoint your executor and\nyour beneficiaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\">For the will to be valid it needs to be signed\nbefore two witnesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\">There are some people that you cannot\nautomatically exclude from your will such as your children as you will need to\nhave a very good reason as to why you are excluding them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\">A letter of intent must be included with your reasons stating why you are excluding your children from the will. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\">Living with a partner does not automatically\nentitle you to their benefits, they must include you in their will.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\">Instead of giving the proceeds of your estate to\nbeneficiaries, a trust could be created, and all the benefits could be paid\ninto the trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\">A trust can have a life span of up to 125years<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\">A basic will, will cost about \u00a3200 to be done by a\nsolicitor<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\">When the will is done, the solicitor will keep a\ncopy, one copy is given to the client and another copy will be stored at a will\nstorage place at a cost of about \u00a330 a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\"><strong>Secretary\u2019s\nreport by Nicolate Gwati<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\"><strong>Changes that\noccurred in 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\">Tsungi resigned as Chairperson of the branch and\nNicolate resigned from her post as Secretary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\">New people were appointed to new posts and <strong>the new committee is as follows<\/strong>: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\"><strong>Acting Chairperson<\/strong>:- Nicolate Gwati<br><strong>Secretary<\/strong>:- Nomagugu Sibanda <br><strong>Organizing Secretary<\/strong>:- Lilian Nleya <br><strong>Treasurer<\/strong>:- Weston Mupfururirwa <br><strong>Fundraiser<\/strong>:- Marian Mangani <br><strong>Acting Information &amp; Publicity Secretary<\/strong>:- Tsungirirai Kahiya <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\"><strong>Updates<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>All the reports from 2019 have now\nbeen published on the website so people can download their reports from there<\/li><li>Vice positions were done away with in\nthe new nominations <\/li><li>People are still being encouraged to\nwrite articles that can be published on the ROHR blog page&nbsp; <\/li><li>New ROHR t-shirts were printed so\npeople can order theirs<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\"><strong>Treasurer\u2019s\nreport by Grace Makoni<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\">Grace gave us a report of how much money we had begun 2019 with, the amount that had been raised, how much we had used and how much money was now remaining at the beginning of 2020<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\"><strong>Fundraiser\u2019s\nreport by Marian Mangani<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:-3px\">In her report, Marian highlighted all the things that we could do in order to raise funds and they included having key rings that could be sold, plastic wrist bands on them with human rights messages that can also be sold and also having a social day where people showcase their talents singing, dancing and doing drama.
