ROHR Zimbabwe Crawley General Meeting 25th May 2013 Report
On Saturday 25th May, 2013 Restoration of Human Rights (ROHR) Zimbabwe human rights activists converged at United Reformed Church, Worth Park Avenue, RH10 3DF for a general meeting which started at 2:00 pm and ended at 9:00 pm.
The meeting was graced by the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of ROHR Zimbabwe, Ms Grace Mupfurutsa and some members of the National Executive of the UK Chapter namely Paradzai Mapfumo (National Coordinator), Pamela Dunduru Organizing Secretary), Phyllis Chibanguza (Coordinator), Rodah Kuhlengisa (Fundraiser) and Panyika Karimanzira (Information & Publicity Secretary)
Other attendees included Ms Tsitsi Jonas, Ms Patience Kasiyamhuru, Ms Flora Nyahuma, Ms Nyasha Monyadzi, Ms Angeline Mekeyohanne, Mr David Ngwenya, Mr T. Mutongerwa and of course the Chairperson of the Crawley Branch of ROHR Zimbabwe, Ms Blessings Maynard who chaired the meeting.
Apart from the inspiring speeches from Ms Grace Mupfurutsa, Ms Pamela Dunduru, Ms Rodah Kuhlengisa, Paradzai Mapfumo and updates from Mr Panyika Karimanzira, the meeting witnessed yet another donation, this time of apparel from Ms Pamela Dunduru.
There was also a lively question and answer session during which everyone present contributed to the ensuing debate.
A resolution was adopted to raise funds for the shipment to Zimbabwe of the items (pens and lingerie and clothing) that had been donated to ROHR Zimbabwe in the UK so far. All members from the floor pledged various amounts of money. The first shipment is to take place in the next few weeks.
The meeting ended at a high note with announcements of forthcoming meetings, the next of which would be in Nottingham on the 6th of July, 2013.
