by isaiah_g9q25srh
27th May 2020 To: S.B. Moyo Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade As restoration of Human Rights (ROHR) Zimbabwe we are deeply appalled at the tone of your press statement dated the 26th of May 2020 with regards to the abduction of the 3 MDC Alliance activists MP Johanna Mamombe, Cecilia Chimbiri and Netsai Marova.   The allusion in your statement to the abduction as ‘having similar hallmarks of stage- managed theatre’ was very distasteful considering the level of trauma and suffering that these women were subjected to. There have been several reported incidents of abduction and torture that have […]

These grievous and unpardonable acts are a gross violation against their rights and freedoms as granted to them under the Constitution of Zimbabwe and were meant to humiliate, traumatise, and silence them into submission. We strongly condemn this violence that was perpetrated against them and urge all human rights governing bodies to lodge an investigation into […]

by isaiah_g9q25srh
23rd August 2019 As Restoration of Human Rights (ROHR) Zimbabwe we are greatly concerned by the blatant disregard of the Zimbabwean people’s Constitutional rights by the government. In recent months there has been a systematic targeting of civil society leaders, human rights defenders and some members of the opposition party in direct contravention of the Constitution under Section 53, Freedom from torture or cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment, Section 59, Freedom to demonstrate and petition and Section 61, Freedom of expression and freedom of the media.  We have observed a worrying pattern of established State repression similar to […]
